Jose Mourinho picks out what he likes about Allan Saint-Maximin as Newcastle close in on deal

Newcastle United are closing in on their second signing of the summer with Allan Saint-Maximin undergoing a medical.

It's been a chase that has gone on for most of the summer but United eventually have secured a deal to bring the Nice forward to Tyneside.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has spoken positively about the 22-year-old - picking out his main attribute.

"If I speak [about players] I think that their agents will be very happy.

"But for example, I like Allan Saint-Maximin, I like his speed," he said earlier this year.

French media outlet L'Equipe had previously claim the Magpies were also in for Ismaila Sarr.

It was claimed that Watford have already had a bid of €30m turned down.

The Senegalese winger scored eight goals for Rennes last season and created a further six goals as the Britanny side finished 10th.

Mourinho also spoke about him: "I think Ismaila Sarr has a little bit of [Ousmane] Dembele in him.

"There are a lot of players in Ligue 1 who have great potential."
