Jose Mourinho 'in bust-up' with Danny Rose over fake injury claims

Jose Mourinho and Danny Rose reportedly had a training ground bust-up this weekend after Rose took issue with being left out of the Tottenham squad which played Watford on Saturday.

Spurs drew 0-0 with the Hornets, a result which means they have failed to win in the Premier League since Boxing Day and have not scored in the competition since the turn of the year.

It is thought that Mourinho believed Rose had a back injury which would prevent him from playing at Vicarage Road, but the left-back was adamant that he was fit.

And according to the Daily Mail tempers flared in Sunday's warm-down training session when Rose demanded an explanation for being dropped from Mourinho, with onlookers saying there was a 'big tension in the air' and raised voices from both men.

On Monday the two had a private talk during training, and it remains to be seen whether they have resolved their difference of opinion, but the clash is the last thing Spurs need given their current struggles on the pitch.

Rose has been in and out of the side this season, making 12 Premier League appearances, but the player recently insisted he was happy to let his contract run down rather than demanding a move away from the club.

Speaking in November the 29-year-old said: "My contract is up in 18 months' time and I'll leave the football club then. People (in the media) can save their time- trying to get stuff ready for January about me being sold. Because I can tell you now: it ain't happening. I know what people were trying to do in the summer. There were no bids- that was rubbish."

Ryan Sessegnon and academy prospect Japhet Tanganga have been preferred to Rose in Spurs' recent starting lineups, and it appears he may have a fight on his hands to break back into the team.
