Jose Mourinho identifies one Liverpool player who made difference in Champions League

Jose Mourinho has identified Alisson as the Liverpool player who made the difference in their Champions League final win over Tottenham.

Liverpool were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season, with then keeper Loris Karius making two costly mistakes.

Jurgen Klopp splashed the cash in the summer to sign £67million Brazilian shot-stopper Alisson, who has been sensational for the Reds all campaign.

In Saturday's final in Madrid Alisson looked unbeatable between the sticks and kept Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min at bay.

After the match Mourinho praised Alisson as the man who made the difference.

But, of course, did add that he wasn't quite "phenomenal".

"They [Liverpool] stayed with the block of seven, they were very pragmatic, they were very solid defensively," said Mourinho on beIN Sport.

"And when Tottenham managed to do something and to create something, the player that was missing last season was there today [Alisson].

"He was not phenomenal, he didn't make five or six or seven saves, but he had a couple of saves that stopped Tottenham to draw."
