Jose Mourinho has named the man who can end Everton's trophy drought

Jose Mourinho thinks Carlo Ancelotti is one of the best managers in the world and believes there's no-one better to win a trophy with Everton.

Spurs travel to Goodison Park on Wednesday to face the Blues for a place in the sixth round of the FA Cup, with both sides desperate to end respective trophy droughts.

The North London club have gone 13 years without claiming any silverware, while it's now 26 years since the Blues last won a competition.

However, the Tottenham manager believes that his opponents this week could not have anyone better in the dugout to try and win them a trophy.

Mourinho highlighted the impact of not just new signings, but the improvement of players such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin as great examples of the work Ancelotti has already achieved at Goodison.

The Spurs boss told his pre-Everton press conference : "Carlo is Carlo.

"Carlo doesn’t go to a club to spend time or to have some fun. He goes to a club to try to be Carlo, a winner, one of the best managers in the world, and of course just by arriving he brings to the club that ambition, that you can see with the players that they got. They didn’t go in the direction of some players to progress.

"They went in the direction of players that Carlo knows very, very well, and players with great quality and great experience at the highest level.

"When you go as an example to Allan and James, you are speaking about two great players who played for Carlo before. Developing some other players, they have players that of course they are improving a lot, just to give the example of Calvert-Lewin, but I could give more.

"And Carlo with time ... Carlo with time, he will win. I’m not saying that Everton can jump over the top clubs, with incredible history. It’s not an easy process of course.

"But with Carlo, and with patience, and with time, and with continuous development of the team, nobody better than Carlo to give a trophy to Everton."
