The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham this summer as Antonio Conte looks to add to a squad tipped to challenge towards the top of the Premier League.
Having already taken points off both Liverpool and Manchester City last season, Conte has overseen an ambitious summer recruitment drive, bringing Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence into the club.
While attentions have turned to potential outgoings of late, Conte is thought to be remain keen on a creative player heading into the Italian’s first full season in charge.
Following Roma’s signing of Paulo Dybala, Zaniolo has been linked with an exit.
Spurs, as well as Juventus, have been tipped as potential landing spots for the 23-year-old, who recovered from two serious injuries to score the goal that won Roma the Europa Conference League last season.
Back in February after Tiago Pinto had refused to rule out Zaniolo’s exit, Mourinho told reporters: “As for Zaniolo, I must say that what Pinto said was totally normal.
“He’s an honest, straightforward sporting director that doesn’t hide or blow smoke. So it’s difficult say he will 100% be here next season.”
