Jose Mourinho has a message of support for Mauricio Pochettino after Spurs' incredible Ajax win

Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has shown solidarity with Mauricio Pochettino after Tottenham incredibly booked their place in the Champions League final.

Spurs produced an amazing comeback to overturn a 3-0 aggregate deficit on Tuesday night at the Johan Cruyff ArenA with a late 3-2 win.

Lucas Moura second a second half hat-trick to set up the Madrid final against Liverpool on June 1.

Pochettino broke down in tears after the dramatic ending and he was clearly emotional about the magnitude of his success.

“It's still difficult to talk, the emotion is amazing,” he told BT Sport.

“Thank you football, thank you these guys, these players are my heroes.

“I told you in the last year, I told everyone that we have a group of players who are heroes.

“They showed today. The second half was amazing. Thank you. Thank you football. Thank you to our fans.

“Thank you to the people who believed and helped us achieve this amazing moment. It's difficult to describe.”

But speaking on beIN Sports, Mourinho admitted he knew how the Spurs boss was feeling and explained that few people know the pressures of being a football manager.

“Sometimes people, they don’t know how we feel,” he said when asked about Pochettino’s tears.

“They don’t know how much it matters for us and the people who love us. Sometimes people just don’t know.

“Sometimes football fans think they care more than us, and they think that it’s just like win a big match and enjoy, lose a big match and get sad but it’s another day.

“Sometimes they don’t know what we are behind the scenes. We are normally a very lonely person in that football consumes a lot. I think this is a manifestation of all of that together.

“He thinks about the family, he thinks about the people that he loves, the people that love him. I feel very normal that he is crying.

“It's a very beautiful way to show the world that for us managers, means much more than for the ordinary fan in defeat and in victory too.”
