Jose Mourinho handed big injury boost as key Tottenham player returns to training at Hotspur Way

Jose Mourinho has been handed a huge boost on the injury front following Hugo Lloris' return to training at Hotspur Way.

The World Cup winner has yet to feature under the new head coach after dislocating his elbow during the opening few minutes of the team's 3-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion in October.

His absence has meant that Paulo Gazzaniga has had a decent run in the starting XI since then but Lloris looks set to return to the team once he is back to full fitness.

While it is good news regarding the shot-stopper, fellow countryman Tanguy Ndombele will once again not be available for this weekend's game at Watford as he is continuing late stages of rehabilitation from his hip injury.

The summer signing last featured in the 1-0 defeat against Southampton on New Year's Day but he only lasted 25 minutes as he got injured and had to be replaced by Giovani Lo Celso.

Midfield has been a problem position for Mourinho since he took on the job and he does need the ex-Lyon man back as soon as possible as he looks to guide his team to a top-four finish come May.

Ben Davies is also continuing the late stages of his rehab as he looks to return from the ankle injury he sustained at West Ham in November.

However, it shouldn't be too long before he is back on the training pitch with his teammates as Mourinho confirmed ahead of last week's game against Liverpool that the Welshman will be back before the month is out.

Spurs have also confirmed that Harry Kane is in the early stages of his rehab after undergoing surgery on his hamstring, with Moussa Sissoko travelling to France with a member of the medical team to undergo the early stages of his rehab after going under the knife on his knee injury.
