Jose Mourinho falls over in unfortunate red carpet mishap at ice hockey game

Jose Mourinho took an unfortunate tumble today in a red carpet mishap at an ice hockey game in Russia.

The former Manchester United manager slipped over in front of a crowd of spectators while at the SKA vs Avangard match at the Balashikha Arena on Monday.

It is not the first time he has taken a tumble in public after slipping over outside Wembley when he was on his way to watch England's Nations League defeat by Spain.

Mourinho was at the ice hockey game as a special guest on Monday and was asked to drop the first puck on a red carpet that was laid out on the ice.

The 56-year-old's feet went from under him as the carpet slipped when he went to make his way off the ice.

Igor Eronko tweeted: “Something went really wrong at the opening face-off. Paul Datsyuk saved the Special One.”

The English language twitter account for Kontinental Hockey League tweeted: “That was unfortunate, but we hope Mr Jose Mourinho is alright”.

The former Manchester United boss was previously filmed trying to step over a rope barrier on his way into Wembley Stadium but tumbled after his foot got caught.
