Jose Mourinho admits he did not watch former club Manchester United‘s match vs Paris Saint-Germain, insisting he already knows all the players who starred in the Champions League clash.
The Portuguese was sacked by United in December, sparking a revival under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And after being spotted taking in Lille vs Montpellier on Sunday, Mourinho has revealed how he swerved United’s 2-0 defeat to PSG at Old Trafford, insisting his desire is to watch football from leagues he does not know.
“No, I didn’t watch it,’ Mourinho told beIN SPORTS. “I watch games from time to time, but I prefer to watch other leagues. The Premier League, I know every player in it.
“I can imagine myself as a coach in Ligue 1. I am a man who has worked in four different countries, I like to know and learn other cultures. Working in a new championship would be a fantastic experience.
“For now I’m calm, I try to live better with my family and friends and I work to get the right opportunity to go back to training.
“Two to three months [without a job] is okay, afterwards it’s more difficult. I hope to have the opportunity to come back stronger.
“My project is my project as a person and coach, to improve myself, to be better, to think all days about my profession, which is also a passion. But this is not the time to talk with clubs.”
Mourinho did not confirm whether he would tune in for the second leg in Paris on March 6, with his ideal scenario to be back in the game within three months, that places a potential return at the end of March or start of April.
