Jose Mourinho drops hint on his future as Manchester United are warned off move for Harry Kane

Here is the latest Tottenham morning digest for Sunday 2nd May

Jose Mourinho reveals what he wants in his next job

Former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has only been out of work for a fortnight but he is already letting it be known what he wants to find at his next club when he returns to management.

Mourinho has signed up to work as a pundit for radio station talkSPORT to be part of their European Championships coverage this summer, meaning he is unlikely to be back in management until next season.

In an interview with the Times Magazine Mourinho said: "I am going on with my normal life. I feel fresh, I feel calm, I am on holiday."

He added: "I’ll wait to be back in football. Not just for the right club, but for the right culture. Maybe next season is premature, we will see."

Tottenham team for Sheffield United

The football.london Tottenham reporters have selected the teams they think Ryan Mason should pick for the clash with Sheffield United this evening.

Both writers have opted to make a number of changes from the team which lined up to take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final last weekend and both teams include returns for Gareth Bale and Tanguy Ndombele at the expense of Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso.

Spurs have just one injury worry for the match against already relegated Sheffield United with Ben Davies the only absentee from the squad, so Mason will have some tough choices to make as to who he leaves out.

Manchester United warned off Harry Kane

Phil Neville has told his former club Manchester United that they do not need to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer.

The Inter Miami head coach told talkSPORT that signing Kane would hamper the development of United's homegrown prospect Mason Greenwood.

He added that the club would be better off giving the 19-year-old more game time and tying up Edinson Cavani on another 12-month contract.

Neville described Kane as "world-class" but he said: "In Cavani they’ve got someone who can definitely produce the goods for another 12 months.

"And the club would not have to pay the types of money that you have to pay for somebody like Harry Kane."
