Jose Mourinho has stated that he believes Dele Alli can take his place on the Tottenham bench against Everton in the FA Cup on Wednesday evening.
Spending the past few weeks on the sidelines with a tendon injury, the midfielder last featured for the Lilywhites in the third round of the competition away at Marine last month.
Amid talk of a January switch away due to his lack of regular first-team football, Mourinho last week confirmed that he had held talks with the 24-year-old and that they found "common ground" as he looks to feature regularly for the side once again.
While Alli could potentially be back in the matchday squad for Spurs, Mourinho has hinted that Serge Aurier is unlikely to be included after coming off on Sunday with a problem in the win over West Brom.
"Serge Aurier, he left the game as you know. Little problem. Can he play tomorrow? I don't know. I don't think so. But we have a training session later in the afternoon," he said in his pre-match press conference.
"Giovani Lo Celso no chance, Sergio Reguilon no chance. Dele trained yesterday and well. Long time away. Can he play tomorrow? I don't know. Not injured but not fit.
"Can he help us? To have him on the bench, it's something I'll have to ask him. I think he can."
Sunday's game against West Brom saw Harry Kane return to the pitch after he sustained ankle injuries in the defeat against Liverpool.
Playing a pivotal role in the victory with a goal, Mourinho has indicated that his main man has "no problems" after making a swift return.
"No problems, at least no big problems," he added. "We have to go player by player to see their feelings and discuss the best options. We want to go with a strong team."
