Jose Mourinho has provided a Gareth Bale update Tottenham fans will love.
Bale is being eased back into action following an injury which kept him out in the early stages of the season following his season-long loan move from Real Madrid in the summer.
The Welshman has started once and made one substitute appearance to-date, and it has been confirmed he will make his second start since his Spurs return on Thursday night when he and his teammates take on Antwerp in Belgium.
That will delight Tottenham fans, but in an even bigger boost, Mourinho has confirmed that Bale is reaching peak fitness after working hard behind the scenes.
"I prefer to tell you a couple of guys who are playing and not the ones who are not playing," he said in his pre=match press conference on Wednesday.
"Bale is playing. We all have, not just the feeling, but also the data that Bale is arriving. He is working very hard. He is being quite a great example for everybody.
"A big guy like him, travelled to Burnley, stayed on the bench for 90 minutes, didn’t play one minute.
"His behaviour as a team guy is incredible. His behaviour as a Tottenham man is remarkable and he is coming. "
Mourinho added: "I can see just with my eyes but then the scientific data is also coming and he is working very, very well.
"He is improving, he is improving a lot and I think tomorrow we can see Gareth at a good level and hopefully he can fly because he is working very hard.
Spurs will be looking to make it two wins from two in the Europa League against Antwerp on Thursday night.
The Belgian club will also be hoping to continue their 100% record in the group stage after defeat Ludogorets last time out.
