Jose Mourinho delivers his Champions League final verdict as Liverpool get set to meet Tottenham

Jose Mourinho has admitted he can't pick a winner between Liverpool and Tottenham after both sides booked their Champions League final places this week.

After a 3-0 deficit from the first leg against Barcelona, a Liverpool team without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino produced an incredible second-leg fightback to win 4-0 and secure a spot in the June 1 final on Tuesday.

Twenty-four hours later, Spurs produced a remarkable turnaround of their own, by scoring three times in the second half to edge out Ajax 3-2 on the night and progress on away goals.

Spurs' winner came in the sixth minute of stoppage time to set up an all-Premier League affair in Madrid at the start of next month.

Mourinho , who was sacked as Manchester United boss in December, was covering the game for beIN Sport, and he said he will be happy to see either Jurgen Klopp or Mauricio Pochettino win the most coveted prize in European football.

Liverpool fans question who former star will support in Champions League final after Tottenham beat Ajax in semi final

"I think a very good quality for a manager is to read the battle, to read your soldiers and their qualities and to try to win that battle," he said.

"Football is to have fun, football is to make people jump in front of the screen like the last two days, but football is about winning. Football is about winning

"To speak about football, I will be in trouble in the final because I like Mauricio and Jurgen very, very much and I think they both deserve to win a trophy.

"The first trophy for Jurgen with Liverpool , the first trophy for Mauricio with Spurs and I think it will be a fantastic final.

Liverpool return to action on Sunday when they host Wolves at Anfield and victory for Klopp 's Reds will clinch the Premier League title if Manchester City fail to beat Brighton at the Amex.
