Jose Mourinho needs all his players fit and available at present with some key games coming up.
Having lost against Norwich City in the FA Cup on Wednesday evening, the Lilywhites travel to Burnley on Saturday before facing RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Without Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko through injury, the head coach was given a major boost against the Canaries as Erik Lamela returned to action in the second half.
The Argentine was joined on the pitch by summer signing Tanguy Ndombele not long after as the pair got some much-needed minutes under their belts.
Given their fitness issues so far this season, Mourinho has claimed that both will be able to take to the pitch again on Saturday at Turf Moor despite the quick turnaround.
"You know Lamela in the end he played 30 plus 30 more or less so one hour of football," he told football.london at his pre-match press conference. "The good thing is that he didn't have any problems after that, which is a good thing.
"Tanguy played 30 plus 10 or 12, something like that. No problems physically so I think they both can play this game again."
One player who looks on course to return to action at Turf Moor is Hugo Lloris after missing out in the past two games due to a groin injury.
The Frenchman has indeed returned to the training pitch and Mourinho has indicated that he will make a decision after their session on Friday aftermoon.
"Decision to be made after training. Training is at three, decision to be made after," he added.
"If you ask whether I am expecting him to play I say yes but I cannot confirm."
