Jose Mourinho decides on plan for Tottenham return to group training and who will be there

The Tottenham Hotspur players will return to small group training with Jose Mourinho on Wednesday.

The Premier League clubs decided in their latest meeting on Monday that players could decide to return to such a way of training from Tuesday.

However, Spurs will begin their small group sessions under Mourinho from Wednesday.

Tottenham behind the scenes

On Tuesday, the players at Hotspur Way will continue their individual running sessions at the Enfield-based training complex, using a pitch each, as they have been doing for the past three weeks.

football.london also understands that Tottenham currently expect all of the first team players to return for the small group sessions, with all of their injury problems now having cleared up.

Harry Kane has been taking part in individual sessions since returning from his hamstring injury.

Both Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn have also returned to the UK, following military service and becoming a father respectively, and have not had to isolate as the government have not yet implemented plans in that regard.

COVID-19 testing facilities have been set up at Hotspur Way for players and staff to be tested regularly.

The Premier League's statement on the return to training read: "Premier League Shareholders today voted unanimously to return to small group training from tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) - the first step towards restarting the Premier League, when safe to do so.

"Step One of the Return to Training Protocol enables squads to train while maintaining social distancing. Contact training is not yet permitted.

"This first stage has been agreed in consultation with players, managers, Premier League club doctors, independent experts and the Government.

"Strict medical protocols of the highest standard will ensure everyone returns to training in the safest environment possible.

"The health and wellbeing of all participants is the Premier League’s priority, and the safe return to training is a step-by-step process.

"Full consultation will now continue with players, managers, clubs, the PFA and LMA as protocols for full-contact training are developed."
