Jose Mourinho could get injury boost for West Brom clash as Alex Morgan makes Tottenham debut

Here's all the news from around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the past 24 hours.

Tottenham injury news ahead of West Brom clash

Tottenham have the chance to go, temporarily at least, top of the Premier League table with a win against West Bromwich Albion today.

Spurs don’t have a great record against the Baggies, winning just two of the last ten games they’ve played against the club from the Midlands.

However, Jose Mourinho’s side are in strong form after back-to-back wins against Brighton & Hove Albion and Ludogorets Razgrad.

Mourinho is likely to instigate changes on Sunday following Thursday's Europa League win over Ludogorets. However, Erik Lamela is ruled out and Sergio Reguilon is battling illness, although it's been confirmed the Spaniard does not have Covid-19.

Japhet Tanganga could be in contention after returning to training, and you can read all the latest team news ahead of the game here.

Former Spurs striker makes Kane claim

Darren Bent believes Harry Kane cannot yet be considered one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.

The England international netted his 200th goal in all competitions for Spurs during Thursday night’s 3-1 victory against Ludogorets in the Europa League.

Despite that, former Spurs forward Bent is not yet convinced Kane is one of the greats, but admits he is on that path.

“Kane’s certainly got the potential – if he carries on on this path – to be one of the greats,” Bent told talkSPORT. “I don’t think I put him in the top five yet. Longevity has to play a part.

“He’s got 149 Premier League goals in 213 games, which is extraordinary. But when you look at the all-round package of what he does, when Wayne Rooney was at his absolute maximum, you can’t tell me Kane is better.

“It’s only now we’re starting to see the full package with Kane. You think about all the positions Rooney got asked to play. He played everywhere.

“You forget how good he was. So to say Harry Kane is the best English centre-forward, I don’t think so. I’m a big fan of Kane and he’s one of those strikers where every time they get the ball around the box you’re thinking it’s a goal.

“Potentially Kane could be the best but if you’re looking at the full package, holding the ball up, bringing others into play, technique, you can’t beat Rooney.”

Morgan sends message to fans after Tottenham debut

Alex Morgan made her long-awaited Tottenham debut during the draw with Reading.

The American striker signed for Tottenham in mid-September but only enjoyed her first minutes in the Women’s Super League in the 1-1 draw today at The Hive.

Speaking about her potential debut recently Morgan told AP Sports: “There’s times definitely where I think stress builds up or I kind of get a little too anxious.

“But I think that I’ve handled it quite well. Hopefully, in the next two weeks, I’ll get on the field with team because we’ve had quite a tough run, especially in the month of October.

“So, I really want to help the team. The amount of decelerations (in training) and that puts a toll on your body, especially my body, that’s just gone through building and creating, growing a human.

“So, I kind of had a little setback with my knee. It’s nothing too serious.”
