Tottenham fans had plenty to say one hour before kick-off at Sheffield United on Sunday when Jose Mourinho's team selection was revealed.
Not only did the head coach opt for wing-backs and a back three against the Premier League's basement boys, he also decided to leave a number of players out of his 20-man squad.
Giovani Lo Celso, as expected, once again missed out through injury, with Matt Doherty, Japhet Tanganga, Harry Winks and Dele Alli also not included for the trip to South Yorkshire.
The exclusion of Alli dominated talk between Spurs supporters leading up to kick-off, especially following the picture of himself looking extremely fed up that he posted on his Instagram Stories less than an hour after the midweek draw against Fulham.
Clubs now have two weeks left to complete any remaining transfer deals this month and plenty more will be said about the 24-year-old between now and then.
The absence of Winks was also a talking point, albeit not as big as the Alli one, with the midfielder not in Sheffield and showing no sign of an injury.
Alli and Winks' omission left Spurs extremely light in terms of midfielders on the bench, with four of Mourinho's nine options attackers as Gareth Bale, Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius were all included.
Moussa Sissoko was one of the two midfielders named as a substitute and he was joined by Gedson Fernandes, who was given a rare call up to the squad.
Only starting in the Carabao Cup win over Chelsea and last weekend's FA Cup victory against non-league side Marine, the 22-year-old has failed to make an appearance for the Lilywhites in the Premier League this term.
His inclusion at Bramall Lane was only the third time he had been named in the squad in the league, with the first of those against Newcastle United in September only coming because Sissoko was ruled out through illness.
A lack of minutes has seen Gedson in the headlines constantly this month regarding a potential early return to Benfica following his nightmare loan move to N17.
Only featuring 12 times for the club last campaign following the move from his home country, Mourinho's call to not include him in Spurs' Europa League squad has only further limited his potential game time for the Lilywhites.

Despite that, Mourinho told football.london prior to Christmas that Gedson had been a "very good professional" and that it was "incredible" he had not missed a single minute of training at the club despite his limited first-team opportunities.
Admitting at the same time that he was unsure over what would happen at the club in January in terms of the player, his selection at Sheffield United hints that Gedson may still have a future in the capital beyond the end of the month.
It would be extremely strange for the player to get the nod at Sheffield United ahead of Dele Alli and Harry Winks and then depart back to Benfica over the coming days while the duo still remain as Tottenham players.
Harvey White was also preferred to Gedson in the squad for the recent Carabao Cup tie over Brentford but the talented youngster wasn't part of the head coach's selection in Sheffield.
Time after time in the league this season Gedson has been left out, yet the fact he was given the nod over the aforementioned trio could suggest that he still is in Mourinho's thinking and a return to Benfica isn't as set in stone as perhaps it may have been only a few weeks ago.
Game time, as ever, is still going to be extremely limited for him if a Benfica return doesn't come to fruition over the next fortnight but Mourinho may not want to let him depart to ensure he has plenty of cover in midfield.
Looking a certainty to exit only a few weeks ago, the next two weeks could now be very interesting when it comes to where Gedson will be playing his football from February onwards.
