Jose Mourinho assesses Tottenham's top-four chances after Man City win

Jose Mourinho reckons it will be "difficult" for Tottenham to finish in the top four despite seeing off Manchester City 2-0 in north London.

The three points means they are four points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

But the Special One reckons their involvement in three competitions could yet count against them as they juggle their Premier League responsibilities with the FA Cup and Champions League.

"It is going to be difficult. We are in three competitions. But it was a good weekend for us," he said.

Tottenham face RB Leipzig in the Champions League and have a replay against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round.

Mourinho though has been able to bring in new faces that will help him rotate his squad, one of whom was Steven Bergwijn who scored on his debut against City.

"So sharp. Unstoppable for a great goalkeeper," said the Tottenham boss about his new boy's goal.

The north Londoners were under the cosh for much of the game with Oleksandr Zinchenko's red card changing the contest, although Mourinho felt aggrieved that Raheem Sterling wasn't dismissed in the first-half.

"I am so pleased for the boys. We were a bit lucky in a couple of situations, but the other perspective very, very unlucky the VAR did not decide for a Raheem Sterling red card.

"It was a clear red card and completely different game if we played for 75 minutes against 10 men.

"I see other situations where the decision is red. The red card of Son Heung-min against Chelsea."
