Jose Mourinho and Tottenham given transfer boost in pursuit of Inter Milan duo

Tottenham's chances of landing Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic may have received a significant boost.

Reports from Foot Mercato suggest Spurs are showing 'great interest' in the winger, and are in talks to sign him on a loan deal with Jose Mourinho apparently keen to strengthen his squad.

The clubs are said to already be in negotiations and it seems Spurs may have a real chance of landing Perisic due to the Italian's financial issues.

According to Calcio Mercato, Inter are in a delicate position financially, facing liquidity issues that could put them in a perilous position when it comes to paying the bills.

The report claims Inter's cash liquidity issues could see them miss the payment of players' salaries despite managing to honour the payments in recent months.

Inter are said to be struggling to pay not only salaries but commissions as well as fees relating to the youth sector, with chairman Steven Zhang desperately attempting to raise cash.

Amid those cash issues, the Serie A giants could be forced to offload players and that could well help Tottenham's case if indeed they do want to land Perisic on loan.

The winger spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, winning Bundesliga before returning to the San Siro, and he has already racked up 21 appearances across all competitions this season.

But Perisic may not be the only player Tottenham try to take from Inter this window with defender Milan Skriniar linked with a move to north London. The centre-back was wanted by Mourinho in the summer, but a hefty price tag saw Spurs opt for Joe Rodon instead.

Skriniar has also appeared to put an end to talk of a move to Spurs. He said: “I always wanted to stay here. I’m happy to be performing more consistently.

“Now, I’m more used to the style of football here but I don’t think I was too bad last year. The team is growing game by game and everyone is doing better and better.”

But things could be taken out of the 25-year-old's hands given Inter's financial difficulties.
