Jose Mourinho had the 'same feeling' as Newcastle United players after Harry Kane hit the post in Sunday's 2-2 draw and the Spurs' boss knew the Magpies 'had a chance until the last second'.
Joelinton broke the deadlock in a topsy turvy game at St James' Park in the 28th-minute, but Kane equalised for the visitors just 90 seconds later.
Kane put Spurs in front a short while later and the England superstar was only denied a hat-trick by the post late on before substitute Joe Willock rescued a point for Newcastle in the 85th-minute.
Given how 'every point for these teams can be a crucial point', Mourinho knew that Newcastle 'were going to fight until the end' and the Portuguese was ultimately proved right.
"I just think that we made mistakes," he told BBC Sport. "We made defensive mistakes that lead to instability.
"In the first half, we were always in control and even in the second half, when we had the ball, we didn't have any problems. We scored goals. We could have scored a couple of more.
"When we are in defensive situations, we create instability with our mistakes and instability brings hope to the opponent.
"The opponent didn't give up and then when we hit the post, they felt they probably had a chance until the last second.
"They had that feeling and I had the same feeling, and I am on the bench. It's difficult to have the feeling of absolute control because I know what happened can perfectly happen."
