Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho insists he is happy with the strength in depth he has at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this term.
The summer transfer window saw Spurs bolster a number of key areas, both in defence and up front. The biggest addition to Mourinho's squad, certainly in terms of practicality, you could argue, was the addition of Carlos Vinicius from Benfica on a season-long loan.
Spurs were in desperate need of sourcing a suitable back-up to Harry Kane and Vinicius was seen as the ideal candidate. The return of Gareth Bale, too, offered Spurs more strength in depth in the wide areas, whilst the arrival of Joe Rodon from Swansea City added another option to the defensive line.
And after making a total of nine changes for this evening's clash with Royal Antwerp in the Europa League, Mourinho has opened up on the quality he has within his ranks.
The Portuguese boss told BT Sport: “I have lots of good players and the question here: is everyone motivated?
"Everyone wants to give everything for every minute they’re on the pitch, showing frustration by not playing every match, but showing that in the right way and showing it in the right way is to perform on the pitch every minute you are there.
"Catch it with both hands and try to perform, so you could say it’s a risk to change so many players, I accept the risk because I trust the players and the squad.
"We are trying to play in a certain style, but it’s not always possible to do because our opponents can also relate to that.”
