Jose Gimenez has insisted he will be an Atletico Madrid player beyond this summer, despite rumours linking him with Chelsea.
The Blues are reportedly interested in signing a central defender this summer - and Gimenez has been one of the names doing the rounds.
The 26-year-old has just over two years remaining on his current contract with the newly-crowned La Liga champions and some reports claim he has a £103million release clause in his deal.
However, the Atleti star has defiantly ruled out a move away from the Spanish capital in the summer.
Speaking to Carrusel, via Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Uruguay international said: "I'm not leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.
"I have no doubt, I am staying."
Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen to add to his defensive options before the start of the 2021/22 season after an impressive start at Chelsea.
Thiago Silva is apparently close to signing an extension on his one-year deal at Stamford Bridge, but nothing has been confirmed yet. But at 36, the Brazilian defender may be managed even more carefully next season.
Elsewhere, AC Milan are reportedly keen to sign English centre-back Fikayo Tomori - who is currently impressing on loan at the San Siro - on a permanent basis once his deal expires in Italy.
Malang Sarr is set to return to west London ahead of pre-season after his loan spell at Porto comes to an end.
Tuchel currently has Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta as his central defensive options - with the German coach often using a three-man defensive line.
Chelsea finished the season with the second-best defensive record in the Premier League - with only Manchester City (32 goals conceded) shipping fewer goals than the Blues' 36.
