Jose Enrique on the Miguel Almiron and Luis Diaz attributes that make them 'best in league'

Jose Enrique believes Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron is among the best in the league at the moment and believes there's similarities between the Paraguayan and Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. The Colombian has been one of the standout performers for Jurgen Klopp's side and wasted no time in establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most dangerous wingers.

However, the former Magpies defender believes Almiron is of a similar ilk after an impressive start to the season. The Paraguayan has scored three times so far this season, one off his best return in a black and white shirt despite having played just eight times so far this season.

Consistency and lack of end product have always been the main areas of concern for Almiron, with his endeavour rarely questioned.

"If I was a manager, Almiron would be the exact kind of player I want," Enrique told Lord Ping. "He never stops running and even if he’s not performing, you know what you’re going to get.

"He’s always going to give his all and that’s what I love about him, as well as the amazing qualities he has. There’s not many left-footed right wingers who are doing well at the moment but he is and he’s one of the most important players for Newcastle at the moment and one of the best wingers in the league.

Almiron is a bit like Luis Diaz, he can change the game but most importantly he gives his all. I love watching him. How he calls for every ball and fights. I’d love players like this in my team."
