Jose Altuve’s series-clinching home run was even better from the Astros radio booth

The Houston Astros are heading back to the World Series for the second time in three seasons thanks to Jose Altuve’s clutch, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win Saturday’s Game 6.

The video of Altuve’s home run made for one of the year’s best sports highlights, but the moment only gets better when you watch it from the Astros radio booth.

Just last week, Astros radio broadcaster Robert Ford had an excellent reaction and call to Carlos Correa’s 11th-inning homer to win Game 2. And he absolutely didn’t disappoint as Altuve’s blast cleared the left-field wall.

This was the video — along with Ford’s call — from the radio booth:

What a call, but I just love the reaction — the pointing, the standing, the entire sequence. Being able to see Ford’s excitement while he remained composed enough to make the call just added more to the moment.

The Astros will host the Nationals for Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday night.
