Here is the Chelsea morning digest on Thursday, June 4.
Agent casts doubt on Jorginho exit
Jorginho's agent Joao Santos has admitted that Juventus will struggle to sign the Chelsea midfielder, despite the player’s excellent relationship with Old Lady boss Maurizio Sarri.
"In my view, it would be difficult for the Bianconeri to buy him today, because the transfer market has changed with the pandemic and Jorginho has a contract with Chelsea until 2023," he told TuttoJuve.
"He is the vice-captain and considered an important player for the squad.
"I don’t just mean Juventus, but all the biggest European clubs would struggle to pay that much for one player right now.”
Abraham compares Mount to Lampard
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has compared Mason Mount to Blues legend and manager Frank Lampard.
The midfielder broke into the first team this season and scored 11 goals and six assists in 45 outings across all competitions.
"Lampard was always a leader, he always wanted to train the best, be the best, you could see that in his character.” Abraham told Chelsea's 5th Stand app.
“I see similarities in Mason Mount, you know.
"You can see that he has obviously studied the way the gaffer played and that’s huge; because he knows about scoring, he knows about defending, he knows about passing."
Why Chelsea have edge in Werner chase
RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner is one of Europe’s hottest prospect right now, with a number of clubs clambering for his signature.
And while Liverpool may be among the world’s best sides right now, Chelsea correspondent Oliver Harbourd thinks the Blues may have the edge as they look to fill the gap left by the outbound Michy Batshuayi.
The Reds have an established and proven frontline, whereas Chelsea can offer Werner a guaranteed place in the starting XI and make him a key player.
Clubs are said to have 12 days left to trigger Werner's release clause if they want to sign him for less than £50m.
