Jorginho's agent drops second major hint over Chelsea exit as he discusses midfielder's future

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has doubled-down with his comments suggesting the Italy international would be open to a return to his homeland.

Joao Santos' previous comments on the former Napoli midfielder caught the headlines earlier this week as he suggested that Jorginho would be open to a transfer to the Serie A.

In a further interview, Santos' latest comments came after he was quizzed once again on Jorginho 's situation at Stamford Bridge - where he has become one of the first names on Frank Lampard's teamsheet.

While stating that a transfer was not on Jorginho's mind at the moment, he opened the door for interest in his client in future transfer windows.

"He arrived in Italy at fifteen, plays in England but his heart is Italian," he told Tutto Mercato Web. At Chelsea he’s doing very well, he’s an important player for the team, a second captain.

"When a team gives this great confidence to a player, it’s because they plan the future together with him

"Not immediately, but he will return to Italy in the future.

"If there was the possibility, he would take it into consideration, but not immediately."

He was then asked about Maurizio Sarri's move to Juventus in the summer, which was used to open the conversation up to the possibility of Jorginho moving to Turin.

"When you go to Juventus with all the champions that are there, it’s not easy to impose a different game. You have to work. But Juve win. And this is the important thing. Today, Jorginho’s coach is Lampard. He thinks of Chelsea, of course”.

Finally, in a more positive spin, Jorginho's agent was asked about the expectations for Chelsea and expressed his confidence that the Blues will secure another top-four finish.

“They are in a rebuild, and Jorginho is a pillar of this. The coach is in his first year, he’s learning the league as a coach. The team can reach the top four."
