Jorginho reveals what Italy teammates told him about Chelsea ace Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea's year couldn't have gone much better thus far.

The Blues won the UEFA Champions League in dramatic fashion, defeating reigning Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 in May's final thanks to a first-half strike from German starlet Kai Havertz.

The west London outfit then built on their European success by adding Spanish midfielder Saul and Belgian frontman Romelu Lukaku to their ranks, the latter costing a club-record £97.5million to bring to Stamford Bridge last month.

Lukaku has hit the ground running during his second stint with the club, notching four goals in as many games, with the most recent coming in a 1-0 victory over Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg in their Champions League curtain-raiser on Tuesday night.

Now, Chelsea deep-lying playmaker Jorginho has given a glowing verdict of the 28-year-old, claiming that his Italy teammates, who played with Lukaku during his two-year stint at Inter Milan were impressed with the striker's work ethic.

"They (Italy team-mates who played with Lukaku) said that he works a lot, he can help a lot, he tries to talk, he works hard," Jorginho said.

"We are really happy that he is really helping everyone.

"That’s what everyone does here, we try to help each other — and he came with the right mentality, working and trying to help.

"So I’m really happy for him as well because he works so hard during training and deserves every goal. A big impact is well deserved."

Chelsea will hope Lukaku can continue his fine vein of form this weekend as they host London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

The Lillywhites endured a torrid match against Crystal Palace last week as English defender Japhet Tanganga was sent off during a 3-0 loss to the Eagles.
