Former Tottenham star David Ginola has been having his say about Arsenal's dealings in the transfer market.
Ginola believes fellow Frenchman Houssem Aouar would make an ideal replacement for Mesut Ozil at the Emirates - but admits Chelsea holding midfielder Jorginho could be a more pressing target in the short-term.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Aouar but the creative midfielder has now said he wants to stay at Lyon.
Ozil is in the final year of his contract with the Gunners but has been out of favour under boss Mikel Arteta.
Asked if Ozil should go, Ginola told Sky Sports: "I think so, and being replaced by Aouar would have been a fantastic choice, because he's definitely the type of player Arsenal fans would love to watch in the middle of the park, that's for sure.
"So if he wants to stay at Lyon, that's his concern. He's still a young player - but to replace Mesut Ozil, I think he's probably the best choice for Arsenal.
"We have to wait and see how it's going to happen."
Meanwhile, Jorginho is again being linked with Arsenal ahead of today's transfer deadline.
"It's very interesting, because sometimes you watch and you hear things about clubs being interested in different players," Ginola added.
"I think that Arsenal need a holding midfielder, like N'Golo Kante or Jorginho.
"That's more accurate right now for Arsenal to be linked with Jorginho."
