Jorginho drops major team news hint ahead of Arsenal's clash against Everton

Arsenal signed central midfielder Jorginho from London rivals Chelsea on January transfer deadline day.

The deal was worth £10million in guaranteed fees with a further £2million in add-ons, football.london understands. The 31-year-old's contract at the Emirates Stadium will be until the summer of 2024, with the club holding the option of an extra year and if his social media activity is anything to go by, he will make his Gunners debut on Saturday afternoon against Everton.

Mikel Arteta's men take on the Toffees at Goodison Park today and ahead of the highly-anticipated Premier League clash, Jorginho has posted a matchday video on his Instagram story, potentially hinting that he could be in line to start the game against Sean Dyche's side.

First-choice holding midfielder Thomas Partey was forced off at half-time during last week's FA Cup clash with Manchester City after suffering a blow to the ribs. Initial prognosis on the injury indicated that it may not be as significant as first thought after the former Atletico Madrid man was able to walk away from the Etihad Stadium without any further discomfort.

However, Arteta confirmed on Friday that Partey is still a doubt to face the Toffees. "Let’s see, that one is still a doubt," the Spaniard said on Partey. "Let’s see how he comes in today and if he’s able to train or not. We will make a decision on that.

"He’s not ruled out and it’s nothing very significant, but it was significant enough to get him out of the game which for Thomas is a bit unusual but hopefully he’ll be fine."

If Partey is unable to start the match against the Merseyside-based club, it will most likely be Jorginho that is handed his Arsenal debut in the Ghanaian's place.
