Jorge Mendes has confirmed Manchester United transfer target Bruno Fernandes will leave Sporting - but not necessarily this month.
The Red Devils have been in hot pursuit of the midfielder this January, but have failed to agree on a transfer fee with Sporting.
United want to spend around £50million for the Portugal international, but Sporting are digging their heels in and holding out for £70million.
Fernandes is reportedly desperate to leave Sporting now, but he might not get a move this month. And according to super agent Mendes, United may not be his destination.
"If he doesn't leave now, he will leave for sure in the summer because Sporting have already spoken with other clubs," said Mendes on Sky Sports.
"Something will happen but I am not sure if now or at the end of the season."
Fernandes has played twice since it was reported that he had agreed personal terms with Manchester United.
The first of these matches came against Sporting's bitter rivals Benfica, with claims the Portuguese club were digging their heels in over selling so their star man could play in the derby.
The second of these was against Braga on Tuesday night - an ill-tempered league game that featured no fewer than four red cards.
Fernandes failed to say goodbye to the Sporting fans after the match, and pushed a camera out of his way as he exited the pitch.
