Jorge Masvidal has indicated that he could follow Conor McGregor out of the UFC if the promotion do not pay him more for fighting.
Masvidal doesn't feel the cut he receives from the pay-per-view is "fair".
He said on an Instagram Live: "It's about how much I'm going to receive from the pay-per-view. How much of a share I want from the pay-per-view.
"That's one of the main things that I'm fighting about. I don't feel that cut is fair and I don't agree with it.
"I love to fight and I always get told don't say that. Because you know why?
"They expect me to do it cheap or damn near free. I love to compete in the sport that I do. But I've been doing it for a long time.
"I've been in the shadows studying, learning — what makes this guy be able to get that much money? That whole plan, we've been doing it for a while.
"We have a formula just like I do for fighting. I have a formula for the business side of it and if they don't want to pay me what I'm worth, it's cool.
"I'm set for life. I don't have to fight. I fight because I love it."
McGregor announced his retirement from MMA for the third time in four years earlier this month, saying: "The game just does not excite me, and that’s that.
“All this waiting around. There’s nothing happening. I’m going through opponent options, and there’s nothing really there at the minute. There’s nothing that’s exciting me.
“They should have just kept the ball rolling. I mean, why are they pushing [Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje] back to September?
“You know what’s going to happen in September, something else is going to happen in September, and that’s not going to happen.
“I laid out a plan and a method that was the right move, the right methods to go with. And they always want to balk at that and not make it happen or just drag it on.
“Whatever I say, they want to go against it to show some kind of power.
“They should have just done the fight – me and Justin for the interim title – and just kept the ball rolling.
