Since his victory at Augusta National in 2015, Jordan Spieth has faced challenges at the prestigious golf tournament. Following his record-setting win at just 21 years old, Spieth's fortunes at the Masters have been mixed.

In the subsequent years, Spieth has experienced both highs and lows at Augusta National, with inconsistent performances ranging from top-four finishes to placements outside the top-20. His recent struggles continued during the 2021 Masters tournament.

During the first round, delayed due to inclement weather, Spieth encountered difficulties on the par-five 15th hole. A quadruple bogey nine on Friday morning significantly impacted his overall score, pushing him to a disappointing six-over for the round.

Spieth's round included challenges on multiple holes, with a particularly tough sequence on the 15th where his shots led to a series of unfortunate outcomes. His final score of seven-over 79 marked his worst round ever at Augusta, surpassing his previous worst of 76.

As the cut-line stood at +4, Spieth found himself at +9, making it unlikely for him to advance to the weekend rounds. If he misses the cut, it would be his third missed-cut in his last four events, including a disqualification from the Genesis Invitational due to an incorrect scorecard.

This season has been a rollercoaster for Spieth, who started with promising performances, including two top-six finishes in his initial events. However, his recent struggles at Augusta National and other tournaments have posed significant challenges for the talented golfer.
