Jordan Reed ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys

The injury news just won’t stop for the Washington Redskins.

Just a day after Derrius Guice underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus, both tight end Jordan Reed and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Both Reed and Allen were hopefull to play this weekend, but according to coach Jay Gruden, neither will be cleared to go.

Reed has been dealing with a concussion that was suffered in the preseason, and he will miss his second straight game. It may seem that three weeks in the concussion protocol is longer than normal, but Reed has a history with concussions, the recovery from that type of injury is often different from other ailments. There is still a lot of unknown factors about concussions, and recovery is not linear. Reed will continue to take things day-by-day and hope to return in Week 3.
