Jordan Owen arrested abroad in connection with murder of Glasgow dad Jamie Lee

A suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a young dad in Glasgow has been held on a European arrest warrant.

Dad of one Jamie Lee was shot dead in Castlemilk in July 2017.

The 23-year-old had just celebrated the birth of his first son when he was gunned down near a play park as kids played nearby.

In the wake of his death a European arrest warrant was issued for Jordan Owen amid reports that he could have gone to Spain.

Owen even appeared on the BBC's Crimewatch programme as officers sought to track him down so he could help them with their inquiries.

And today a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that a 25-year-old man has been arrested abroad on a European arrest warrant in connection with the murder of 23 year old Jamie Lee in July 2017.

“The man is now subject to extradition procedures.”
