Jordan North celebrates Christmas in May as he puts up tree and opens presents

Christmas has come early (or should that be late?) for Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, who celebrated the December tradition with his family today thanks to the lifting of lockdown restrictions.

The I'm A Celebrity favourite shared photos of himself excitedly opening presents and telling his 670k Instagram followers that his Grandma had even put the Christmas tree up for him.

Like so many people who live in London, Jordan, 31, was forced to stay in the city due to Tier 4 restrictions, revealing his family, who live in Burnley were "absolutely heartbroken” that he couldn't celebrate Christmas with them.

Speaking to Andi Peters on the Lorraine show in December, he said: “I was planning on going home today after my radio show but obviously I can’t after the announcement.

“My mum was absolutely gutted, there’s been a lot of tears on the phone this week, she’s heartbroken.

“And so are my brothers and me nephews, but look we’re all going through it.”

Jordan shot to fame after reaching the final of I'm A Celeb 2020 and is currently the 11pm-1am weekend host on Radio 1.

The star was recently seen on fellow I'm a Celeb contestant Vernon Kay's Game of Talents in a gut-churning chilli-eating contest.

"I don't like spicy food!" Jordan complained, walking onto the stage.

Having eaten two of the beasts, the DJ began to gag and had to sip milk, with Vernon close to hysterics.

"You've set me up!" Jordan moaned. "My eyes are watering!"

Vernon eventually took pity on his friend and told him didn't have to try the hottest chilli in the world - the Carolina Reaper.

Viewers were delighted to see the I'm A Celeb finalists together again for the first time since December, where the show was held in a Welsh castle for the first time due to the coronavirus.
