Jordan Nobbs relishing return to England set-up as Arsenal midfielder looks to leave injury hell in the past

Arsenal Women midfielder Jordan Nobbs is relishing being back in the England fold and is now looking to put her injury hell behind her.

Nobbs played just one game at the 2015 Women’s World Cup due to injury and she then missed the tournament four years later after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament.

Injury struck the 28-year-old again at the start of this season, but Nobbs has recovered from the ankle issue to be called up by Sarina Wiegman for the first time ahead of tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier with Austria.

“Obviously I’ve had a rough few years,” said Nobbs. “You want everything to go well in the football world, but it happens, injuries happen, selection things happen, and you just have to stay mentally strong.

“I still watched everything. It was tough watching, but I want to stay as much involved and knowing what’s going on with the squad.”
