The former Partick Thistle defender Jordan McMillan has been handed a two-year ban after testing positive for cocaine.
McMillian’s failed a drug test following a game against Celtic on 3 December 2014, and his contract was terminated by the Scottish Premiership side in February this year. The 26-year-old originally appealed against the ban, handed down in April, but the decision has been upheld.
A statement on UK Anti-Doping’s website read: “Jordan McMillan has been suspended from all sport for two years following an Anti-Doping Rule Violation.
“McMillan tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, following an in-competition test by UKAD after a Scottish Premiership match between Celtic Football Club and Partick Thistle FC on 3 December 2014.”
McMillan was a youth player at Rangers before playing senior football with Hamilton, Queen of the South, Wrexham, Dunfermline and then Partick, where he made 29 appearances spanning three seasons. The ban will run until 17 December 2016.
