Jordan Larsson to end Celtic transfer rumours as Bundesliga club to sign Swede after UK interest

Jordan Larsson is set to sign with Bundesliga club Schalke after a summer of speculation linking with an emotional move to Celtic.

The son of Parkhead legend Henrik, there has been constant links to Glasgow for the forward after his departure from Russian club Spartak Moscow. Fans had been pondering the thought of one of their heroes coming back to the club to watch his son pull on the green and white hoops but those notions have been squashed.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports Larsson has agreed a 'deal in principle' to join German side Schalke, who were looking to sign Celtic defender Christopher Jullien earlier this summer. It is reported that manager Rouven Schröder made a huge effort to sign the player who was also a wanted man in the English Championship.

A move to Germany beckons however, and he will fly into the country to complete his move.

Barring any late hitches or problems with the medical, Larsson could ve unveiled as a Schalke player before the weekend.

Larrson senior's former teammate John Hartson told Go Radio of the prospect of the Swedish international signing for Celtic: "The fans would have opinions on it.

"Would it be a sentimental thing with Henrik being a wonderful player and being a total legend, the king of kings?"
