Jordan Larsson to Celtic transfer assessed as Postecoglou told 'ring his dad' over emotional move

Ange Postecoglou has been told that he is only a phone call away from getting an honest verdict on whether Jordan Larsson would be a good signing.

The Australian has said he will be looking to remain active in the transfer market that shuts on September 1. Larsson is a free agent after leaving Russian club Spartak Moscow and links have began to emerge that Celtic could be interested. His dad is an idol at Parkhead, Henrik Larsson, and the Swede's former teammate has weighed in on rumours.

John Hartson, speaking on Go Radio, reckons that a phone call to the legendary forward could tell Postecoglou whether bolstering a forward line that already has Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota, Liel Abada, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Daizen Maeda would be worthwhile: "The one thing Ange has to do there is ring his dad and ask 'how is he doing, would he be a good signing for us?'

"Is he at this level? Is he capable of stepping into the Champions League? Can he mix it with Kyogo, Giakoumakis and Maeda?

"The fans would have opinions on it. Would it be a sentimental thing with Henrik being a wonderful player and being a total legend, the king of kings?

"That would be a question. But all Ange has to do is ring his dad. I played with his dad and he is one of the most, honest people. He would give you an exact answer on where Jordan Larsson is right now."
