Jordan Jones transfer update as Rangers winger’s queue of suitors is lengthened by Birmingham and Hull

Birmingham City and Hull City have joined the growing list of English Championship sides who are all keen on landing Jordan Jones before the window.

The pair have gone in with Stoke City, Middlesbrough and Blackburn in the scramble to land the Rangers winger.

Light Blue chiefs are aware of the interest in the Northern Ireland star with League One giants Sunderland also in the equation – although they have struggled to do a loan for Greg Docherty so far.

The indication to all the interested parties would be that Rangers would also consider a loan but a permanent deal would need to be locked in for the summer.

Record Sport revealed earlier this week that the Ibrox giants were looking to try and move Jones and Brandon Barker on to give Steven Gerrard some scope to do some late business.

Jones only moved to Ibrox in the summer on a freedom of contract from Kilmarnock.

The 25-year-old produced some big European performances but then his campaign was curtailed after he suffered a serious injury for the tackle that saw him red carded against Celtic.

Jones is also keen to get games to be involved in Northern Ireland’s bid to qualify for Euro 2020 via the Nations League play-offs.

Midfielder Docherty remains a target for Charlton and Sunderland and remains available for a late Ibrox exit, along with young winger Glenn Middleton.
