Jordan Jones receives Rangers salute as Michael Beale reminds him of part played on road to title

Rangers loanee Jordan Jones received a special title message from coach Michael Beale after congratulating his parent club.

After a 3-0 win over St Mirren the Ibrox side are just a point away from the Scottish Premiership crown.

Goals from Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi blew Saints away as the inspired home side took control from the first minute to last.

Jones, however, was hundreds of miles from the party having been sent out on loan by manager Steven Gerrard to Sunderland in the January window.

And the winger hasn't played for Rangers since he and fellow Ibrox star George Edmundson were found to have attended a house party despite Covid restrictions in Glasgow's west end late last year.

He sent a congratulatory message as his team-mates back in Govan are on the verge of greatness - with the prospect of winning the league before they kick another ball on Sunday if Celtic fail to beat Dundee United.

But first-team coach Beale reminded the Northern Ireland star that despite the incident, he has been a big part of the journey.

After seeing the jubilant scenes at Ibrox after the game, Jones tweeted: "Enjoy every minute #55".

But Beale replied: "You are part of this Jordan."
