Rangers have sold Jordan Jones with the winger joining Wigan for an undisclosed fee.
The former Kilmarnock man failed to make an impact at Ibrox and spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland in League One.
And now he'll return to the same division by joining Wigan on a permanent deal after signing a three-year contract with the Latics.
Jones had been given a bit of a chance in pre-season by Steven Gerrard but was left out of the European squad and wasn't involved against Livingston either.
The 26-year-old now heads south of the border and will go straight into the squad against his old side Sunderland on Saturday.
Jones had a controversial spell at Rangers after joining from Kilmarnock and spent most of his first season injured.
That came after he lashed out at Moritz Bauer during a 2-0 defeat to Celtic and he never really regained Gerrard’s trust.
Jones then appeared to be getting back in and scored against Motherwell before receiving a seven game ban for a Covid-19 breach.
And speaking about his move to Wigan, he said: “I’m over the moon – the move has been in the pipeline for a few weeks so I’m just thankful to be here and I cannot wait to get started and kick on.
“I spoke to the manager and a few of the players, and it seems there is such a positive vibe around the place at the minute - it’s something that I want to be a part of.
“They’ve got a clear vision with how they want to play football; playing attacking football and getting as many results as we can."
