Jordan Jones brands Rangers 'Scotland's biggest club' as he admits sorrow at how Ibrox move turned sour

Jordan Jones has branded Rangers as the 'biggest club in Scotland' as he admitted he didn't get to play as much as he would have liked.

The winger left Ibrox on a permanent deal this morning after a disappointing two years at the club that saw him play just 19 times over the two campaigns.

An injury suffered after lashing out at Celtic defender Moritz Bauer during a 2-0 defeat for the Ibrox men that saw him red carded kept him out for most of his first season.

He was then banned for seven games for breaching Covid-19 rules along with former team-mate George Edmundson - who he'll come up against in League One this season.

Now the winger has moved on to join Wigan and he's opened up on the decision to leave after admitting his regret over game time. for Steven Gerrard's men.

He said: "My time up at Kilmarnock was fantastic and I couldn’t have gotten much more out of it really.

“When I left there we were third and had got into Europe and that was a really successful spell. I worked with some great players and a great manager in Steve Clarke.

“I went to Rangers, the biggest club in Scotland; fantastic, the fans are unbelievable and it was a massive season for them last year winning title number 55.

“I did not play as much last season as I would have liked to due to a few reasons but it’s in the past and I’m looking forward to the next step in my career

“I’m over the moon, it’s been in the pipeline for about eight weeks and I’m delighted to get it sorted.”
