Jordan Jones apologised to Celtic defender Moritz Bauer as Rangers winger waits on scan results

Kilmarnock star Gary Dicker has revealed Rangers winger Jordan Jones issued an apology to Moritz Bauer after his horror tackle.

The Ibrox new boy was sent off for his lunge on the Celtic right back towards the end of his side's 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

And his old team-mate Dicker admits the Northern Irishman is feeling upset about what happened during the game but was more than happy to go and apologise to the Austrian.

Jones scythed down the defender with no attempt to play the ball and angered his manager Steven Gerrard when he was shown the red card by Bobby Madden.

But Dicker told BBC Sportsound: "I spoke to him earlier. It can be a lonely place.

"Everyone's telling you what you should have and shouldn't have done.

"He spoke to the right-back at Celtic and apologised. You’ve just got to learn from it and use it.

"I think he was pretty down at first, which is natural after the game.

"Hopefully the results (from his scan) come in and it’s not as serious as he might think it is."

There are fears from Rangers than Jones has suffered a serious knee injury in the tackle, but they are still waiting on scan results to find out how long he will be out for.

The 24-year-old left the stadium on crutches.
