Jordan Howard not concerned about rumors Eagles shopped him to Chargers for Melvin Gordon

Jordan Howard arrived in Philadelphia this offseason looking to re-establish himself as one of the top running backs in the NFL while playing for a franchise with huge Super Bowl aspirations. Since then, Howard has dealt with the Eagles draft Miles Sanders, questions about his ability as a pass-catcher and now the rumors that he could be traded for the second time in less than a year.

Howard’s name was mentioned a possible compensation in a trade inquiry made by the Eagles to the Chargers involving holdout running back Melvin Gordon.

Howard spoke to The Inquirer about the rumors and appeared unconcerned about possibly being traded again.

″I didn’t hear about that, but that’s not my job, to worry about it, my job is just to focus on what’s on hand right now,” said Howard, who came to the Eagles from Chicago for a conditional sixth-round pick last spring.

“That doesn’t really make me feel any kind of way. Its good people are interested in me or whatever,” Howard said.

Howard has an average of 4.3 yards per carry and is one of the top-3 backs in the NFL over the past three seasons in rushing yards. He’ll likely start Sunday’s game against the Redskins and the future free agent will look to establish himself as a workhorse back once again.
