Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders accomplished feat only one Eagles RB duo has since 1978

The Philadelphia Eagles could be turning into a run-first football team and that could lead to a long playoff run, especially if Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard can remain healthy.

Currently, in the NFL, there are only four teams that have multiple running backs with 175+ rushing yards this season: Philadelphia Eagles (Howard & Sanders), Denver Broncos (Lindsay & Freeman), San Francisco 49ers (Breida & Mostert) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Jones & Barber).

According to Eagles PR guru John Gonoude, this is the first time the Eagles have done it since 1978 when Wilbert Montgomery and Mike Hogan did it.

During that 1978 season, Montgomery (1,220) and Hogan (607) combined for 1,827 yards according to Pro Football Reference. That season, Montgomery was named an All-Pro for the first time, while the Eagles as a team, made the playoffs as a wild card team.
