Jordan Henderson has aimed a tongue-in-cheek jibe at the match officials in after seeing what would have been his first England goal ruled out for offside against the Czech Republic.
The Liverpool captain saw a late goal ruled out by VAR as England progressed to the Euro 2020 knockout stages as Group D winners.
Jude Bellingham poked the ball to Henderson, who was in an offside position and saw his deflected effort bulge into the back of the net.
Raheem Sterling's goal meant the 31-year-old's disallowed strike late in the second half wasn't to prove costly after the Manchester City winger nodded home from Jack Grealish's cross after 20 minutes.
The win saw Gareth Southgate's side leapfrog the Czech Republic to the top of the group as Tomas Soucek's side slumped to a third-place finish in the group following Croatia's 3-1 win over Andy Robertson's Scotland.
Henderson jokingly took to Twitter saying: “Are you definitely definitely sure!?" rounding off the tweet with three laughing faces.
Henderson replaced Declan Rice at half-time as he continued his return from the groin injury that ruled him out for the end of the season. It was just his second spell of competitive minutes after he was introduced at the same time for the final warm-up game against Romania.
He squandered the perfect opportunity to open his account for England against the Romanians but his spot-kick was saved.
Henderson did his chances of featuring further in the tournament no problems as the Three Lions now await to find out their next opponents as they face the runners-up from Group F which could be any of the nations in the Group of Death as France, Portugal, Germany and Hungary are all vying to secure a spot in the round of 16.
