Jordan Henderson believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will prove a "big addition" to Liverpool's team after his long-awaited return from injury.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made his first appearance of the season with a 15-minute cameo from the bench in the 7-0 Premier League win at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The midfielder, who had been absent since suffering a knee injury during pre-season training in August, marked his comeback by providing the assist for Mohamed Salah to strike the final goal of the match.
And Liverpool skipper Henderson is delighted Oxlade-Chamberlain is again an option for Jurgen Klopp.
"Very nice to see Ox back," said Henderson.
"He's been working extremely hard to get back. Looking sharp again and I thought he did well when he came on.
"So the more minutes he can get, the better really because he's a big addition to our team."
Liverpool, who are four points clear at the top of the Premier League table, are next in action on Sunday when they entertain West Bromwich Albion.
It's the first of four games in 13 days, culminating in the FA Cup third round clash at Aston Villa.
And Henderson, speaking to liverpoolfc.com, is hopeful Oxlade-Chamberlain won't be the only returnee in the coming weeks.
"We've got a little bit of a break going into the next game but after that it comes thick and fast," he said. "So we need to be ready for that.
"Hopefully we can have a couple more coming back from injury or (get) fitness levels even higher. So it's an important period for us over the next few weeks."
