A statistic has emerged that may show why Jordan Henderson's setback is Jurgen Klopp's biggest blow yet.
Liverpool are currently in an injury crisis and have five usual starters ruled out for Sunday’s clash against Leicester, as well as numerous others in doubt.
One of those is club captain Jordan Henderson, who picked up a groin strain while on international duty with England.
Klopp said of him: "Hendo will not be available, that's clear. All the rest, we will see.
"They are in a good way. They are all closer, but we will see if it's close enough for the weekend."
The 30-year-old is often described as the engine room of Liverpool’s midfield, and earned high praise for his consistent performances in helping the Reds win the league last season.
But his importance to the side has been underlined by a statistic from BETDAQ that shows the differentiation in points picked up with and without him.
Many consider Virgil van Dijk or Mohamed Salah to be the most important player at Liverpool.
But the points per game chart shows that Henderson is comfortably more vital, with the Reds averaging 2.64 points per game with him in the side.
That is vastly superior to the 1.83 they have picked up without him in the side.
In comparison, Salah’s points per game is 2.56 when he features, while without him Liverpool still average 2 points per game.
That’s a better record that Van Dijk, who’s difference is 2.54 when included, and 2.33 when he’s left out.
Fabinho is a doubt for the game against Leicester, and his average incredibly suggests that they might be better off without him, going from 2.47 to 2.73 when he does not feature.
