Jordan Henderson reveals Jurgen Klopp reaction to Liverpool's 'worst two performances'

Jurgen Klopp managed to keep his cool during Liverpool's worst periods of the season.

The Reds have enjoyed an excellent campaign both domestically and in Europe and will look to end it with silverware, when they take on Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid on Saturday.

Klopp's men also pushed Manchester City close in the Premier League, losing just once - to the eventual champions.

There have been more blotches on their European copy book, with Liverpool losing all three of their away group stage matches.

The Reds were narrowly beaten by PSG but their performances against Napoli and Red Star Belgrade left a lot to be desired.

Skipper Jordan Henderson admits those displays were Liverpool's 'worst of the season'.

But boss Klopp resisted the opportunity to tear into his players at the final whistle in Naples and Belgrade.

"When people ask me what Jurgen Klopp is like in such circumstances, I think they expect me to say that he screams and shouts and he goes mad but that just isn’t the case," Henderson told the Mail.

"He’d rather wait a day or two, watch the match again on video, then get his point across without too much emotion.

"To be fair, we knew ourselves that neither of those games were good enough and we had fallen way short of our standards. There was no intensity, no rhythm. It wasn’t good at all. Belgrade was a kick up the a***."

Liverpool scraped through to the knockout stages with a 1-0 win over Napoli at Anfield.

They then saw off Bayern Munich and Porto before their dramatic semi-final success over Barcelona .
